Data Act
Data Act (Regulation (EU) 2023/2854)
The Data Act establishes rules to ensure fair access, use, and sharing of data within the European Union. It aims to stimulate innovation, improve competition and ensure a fair data economy across the EU by addressing data-related barriers.
This Act entered into force on 11 January 2024 and applies from 12 September 2025.
If Shimadzu obtains “product data” and “related service data” during any kind of service activities from a customer, Shimadzu uses the data exclusively for this customer. Shimadzu does not make the data available for any other purposes.
